The Swellness of Pelham

My Ontario jaunt was brief but archetypically fall – wind, fallen apples, colourful trees, crunchy leaves underfoot – and reminded me how I miss Ontario’s seasons. BC’s are, well, different.

In Niagara-on-the-Lake I read to my parents and the librarian. No complaint, really. I enjoyed it. Maybe the no-shows were because the new library is not walking distance from downtown. Maybe because it was the last weekend of the Shaw Festival and everyone took their last chance to see Mabel and Mac.

But the Pelham Library reading in Fonthill, Ontario, was a-hopping. They even had to pull out an extra chair or two. A big thanks to Elaine Anderson for inviting me and organizing such a vital reading series.
